NBC has let me down so many times before (The Event, Alcatraz, The Firm, Harry’s Law). I’m REALLY pissed about the last three. You didn’t even put Harry’s Law on NBC on Demand or Hulu! Idiots! Anyway, I’m really scared to get into any of their shows because they’re such a cocktease. They get you all hot and happy about a show, then they screw you over by cancelling it, moving it against something that has been in its top spot for YEARS, giving it a hiatus then coming back with big WTFs by changing the formats and all the other stuff. And to think there was a time when NBC battled ABC for top spot. Now its ABC vs. CBS. NBC is what CBS used to be. I mean there as a time when if you told me something was on CBS I automatically tuned out because I knew it sucked. Sorry for the rant.
So, it boils down to 12 shows. Four hates, four neutrals and four likes. And, even the ones I really like, I’m just waiting for NBC to go “Hey Stupid, we got you again! We’re going to ruin it because that’s how we roll!”
1600 Penn – A comedy about the President and his family. Eh. Starring Bill Pullman and Jenna Elfman. Mid season replacement. Hmm
Animal Practice – A vet who loves animals and hates the owners. Um. No. Really. No. Only good thing is it stars Justin Kirk (Andy from Weeds). Wednesdays, 8 p.m. BLEH
Chicago Fire – Well, I guess we have our fair share of doctors, cops and lawyers. So why not the fire department? Don’t have a feeling one way or the other on this. Eammon Walker (Oz) stars in it. Wednesdays, 10 p.m. Hmm
Do No Harm – A neurosurgeon with an evil alter-ego finds out that the superduper serum that keeps his evil side hidden isn’t working anymore. With Phylicia Rashad. Winter 2013 mid season replacement – Yay
Go On – Matthew Perry stars as a widowed sportcaster who goes to therapy. Ho hummmmmmmm, meh. Doesn’t sound funny at all. Tuesdays, 9 p.m. BLEH
Guys with Kids – Three fathers with children. I was kinda ehh on this one, until I realized it had Anthony Anderson, Vanessa Bledsoe, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Wednesdays, 8:30 p.m. Yay (First Pick)
Hannibal – Books/movies brought to television. FBI criminal profiler (male) works with Hannibal Lecter. This should be interesting. It was great as movies, but can they keep it interesting every week? I like the idea. Here’s hoping they don’t screw it up. Mid season 2013. Yay
Infamous – Meagan Good returns to her hometown to investigate the murder of her childhood BFF. Also starring Victor Garber. I like, I’ll watch. And, I’ll probably watch it get cancelled. Mid season replacement Yay
Next Caller – Male DJ hates the idea of having a female co-host. Yuk Yuk, that’s so funny. NOT! The only plus is Jeffrey Tambor is in it. Mid season replacement BLEH
The New Normal – Woman becomes a surrogate for a gay couple. Two gay guys, surrogate, surrogate’s daughter and grandmother. All one big happy family? Stars Ellen Barkin as the grandmother. I’ll give it a chance Tuesdays, 9: 30 p.m. Hmm
Revolution – Fifteen years after a world-wide blackout, a world tries to revive. Giancarlo Esposito is in this! Yummy! I could watch it just for him. Monday’s 10 p.m. Hmm
Save Me – Anne Heche almost dies, hears God and believes He wants her to communicate to everyone else. I don’t care if Lamann Rucker is in it. Just. NO. Mid season replacement – BLEH
